Need some info on how great water skiing is for a stagnant body of water. It turns the lake over, aerates it, reduces fecal coliform levels. I know this is true... anybody got some good links to prove it?

This website "No Solar Bees" was a portion of the homeowners response to the "Water Improvement Board's" movement to place twenty-two water movement pumps (with flashing lights) on our coastal lake. Some interesting information but not sure if exactly what you're looking for.

A rather exhaustive paper with numerous references. (published 2000)

GREAT resources in that second link. Interesting stuff on the first one, too.
The WI-DNR article was particularly interesting. It seems that we are in pretty good shape:
2 stroke engines, according to their studies, have extremely minor effects on the overall health of the lakes.
We use 4 stroke engines, which are significantly more efficient and cleaner.
If there are any other studies out there like this, please link 'em here!!

What about the dye they use in tournament lakes? how healthy is it?
The dye is basically food coloring. The reason why folks use it is to stop sunlight from reaching the bottom
of the lake. Typically this is to stop all weed growth.
