We have a 2001, we think, O Brien Mapple in new condition. We want to set it up to ski and need the fin settings. Does anyone have them?
I don't have specific numbers for that ski.
What I can tell you is that a large number of skis fall into the range of 6.82" [tips], 2.51", .78"
These are pretty balanced numbers and should be an acceptable starting point. The only
anomaly I can think of is D3, their stock length tends to be in the neighborhood of 6.91"
Oh, and two skiers I see often that are experimenting (one on a Warp the other on a Nomad RC) with 6.61" [jaws], 2.40", DFT at stock. Radically shallow: you can eyeball and see how small the fin is. So far they really like it, but I think they'll need to go a bit deeper when the water warms up in the spring. Also, the one on the Warp runs -38' blindfolded and deep -39' with regularity. More than anything I think he just likes to change the feel of things from time to time.

I sort of have a feeling that the 2001 Mapple was more in the .83 range but that is really just a guess based on the tail shape.
Someone out there has to have one of these skis (and numbers!) lying around...

I also would like to have the approx binding measurement and a suggested wing setting for this ski, which is a 2001 O Brien Mapple.
Should have consulted google to begin with. And where does it take us, non other than waterskimag.com
For fin:

For boots:

damn I was close, and I would have guessed 29" on the boots also.
2.525; length - 6.820; distance from tail - .73
64″ (163 cm) / 29.25″
66″ (168 cm) / 29.75″
68″ (173 cm) / 30.5″
I have What I think is a 2005/2006? O'Brien Mapple. I take it the settings would be the same?
