Did you ski the site? Was it good?
It's about as awesome as you can imagine. A little rolly after spinning passes but where isn't ?
New personal record for the cold... 47 degree water 46 degree air... got back below the 100 degree rule!

How did the meeting go with the sponsor? I really hope this works out, its not even two hours away from me. When i went to school in milwaukee, every time I passed that lake I thought how awesome it would be to ski on.
Looks sick Wade.. and cold.. almost like being back home again huh?
Wade,
Looks awesome. Nice to see new tour stops for next year. Are you working any stops out west. Utah, Idaho, Colo, Nevada????
MC
That would definitely be sweet Wade! And you need to come to Wisconsin more to get past this 100 degree rule. Last weekend I went more north in Wisconsin and had 40 degree water, 35 degree air, with no wetsuit or heater shirt of any sort.
Sweet! How's the shoreline for spectators? Should get a big crowd up in there. Need to get some cheese curd & bratwurst vendors lined up.
I did 103 yesterday (54 water, 49 air), but was reasonably comfy. Hardshells w/ intuition liners are way warmer than rubber, an oneil guru hybrid w/ warm top underneath, beanie, and some new gloves make it completely bearable.
Gloves are ok if you hold handle in fingers - if you grab in your palm though, they bunch up and make it hard to hold on...

The worst about that was I had to help take out the slalom course afterward. I at least got to borrow a shorty jump suit which helped a bit, but after about a third of the buoys I had to get out and let the person with the drysuit finish. I couldn't take it any longer!
I'm really hoping this Milwaukee deal works out. I'll certainly be making the trip to come and watch next summer if it does.

Mike, 40 degree water and 35 degree air, with no wetsuit or drysuit?? dude you are insane. That's borderline dangerous!
MChilcutt-Next year there will be pro events in Milwaukee, Illinois, British Columbia, and Grand Rapids, MI
I would imagine that there will eventually be an event @ Goode ski lake in Utah if Dave's working with the city as much as I've heard. Also we had a great suggestion for an event in Reno, NV. It's basically up to a local organizing comittee to find the site and do a lot of the legwork to put the event together -- and then the tour can roll there!
Zane - Ya, it was cold. I've been in FL long enough that I have a lot of heat built up, my hands were numb and it wasn't my best skiing ever, but such a cool location. There were cars stopping on the side of the road to watch. We probably exposed waterskiing more in a few hours at this site than at a few of the pro events this year, combined!

Wade- 32 off @36mph, no pre-gates, no dry suit was really amazing in Milwaukee yesterday. I was practically paralyzed and I live here AND had a drysuit!
Good Job Wade and crew! You're the type of ambassador this sport needs!

Fantastic effort. I'm already looking forward to the webcast.
Wade, maybe when you have a moment, you could put an article together about how you went attracting sponsors, getting permissions etc. Sort of a guidance note to putting on a world class event at your local municipal lake. I'm sure there are lots of skiers out there would find it useful.
Me. I'd love to skiing on Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park London.

Type in London, move the map west a bit.
Though, I'm a bit wooried about the backwash around 1 buoy from the island.
Give 'em the key, they'll open the door; was one of my old bosses favourite catchphrases.
