All we need is a day of some strong north wind and we will be slashing. I Love this time of year: snow ski in the morning then head down and ski the course in the afternoon.
MC
how's the water lookin!?? (i'm hoping y'all get our earlier than any of the dates just 4 the joy of shreddin'!!)
Plotz thanks for asking i think by Saturday we will be free of ice and skiing the course. Where are you located and are you skiing yet?
MC
Virginia, have been skiing on Lake Anna, water is always warm due to power-plant's discharge soooo yeah, i've been skiing! haha! however, i've only been able to go out a couple times this off season it sucks.. but, yeah, i'm stoked for this season!! And woohoo! sounds like its only a matter of time for y'all!! ENJOY!!
The ice is off the main lake after the north winds all night long, harbor is full of ice chunks. Won't be much longer now!
Could today be the day the harbor becomes free of ice? I cannot view the camera from work so let me know how it looks today.

I still think it will be Saturday before the harbor is ice free. Today looks like a great day to set up the course, rain moving in on Saturday after 10 am then changing to snow in the afternoon. http://www.atmos.washington.edu/~ovens/ … cp1+//72/1
The Provo Harbor is ice free this morning on the cam, the ski season has arrived!!! I would bet that the Harbor was ice free by Saturday afternoon/evening on the 13th after the 15-20 g/30 mph winds kicked in. http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/mesowest/getobe … mp;num=100
I drove down and it isn't ice free yet. The cam doesn't show it all. Probably one more day.

We are looking for ICE FREE in the harbor! Thanks Garn.
MC
Garn? On Sunday when you were down there could we have launched north or south side and drove out of the harbor without going thru any ice??? My rules said launch and drive without driving the boat thru the ice.
MC
South side no way. North side would have been difficult with the ice still floating around. It amazes me how fast things change though. Keith called me yesterday and said the ice was gone on the North side and that you could drive right out.
Garn
Mark, Saturday afternoon was the day you could have launched on the north ramps with the north winds that kicked up in the afternoon. The Harbor was likely free and clear of ice by late in the day except in the southeast corner where the ice was stacked up. When I looked at the cam early on Sunday morning I did not see any ice around the north or south ramps, just in the southeast corner of the harbor.
I'm going to try and get down to course #1 today by 3 pm.
