Install Zero Off in 2005 Ski Nautique

Does anyone have any information on converting my '05 Nautique to Throttle by wire so that I can install Zero Off?  I have been told that Zero Off discourages this but that it is possible.  thanks in advance...

Two places do it that I know of:

Jody Seal at Florida Inboards http://www.floridainboards.com/

Tim White at Inboard Solutions http://www.Inboardsolutionsllc.com

From my understanding it's going to run you about $3,000 for the upgrade plus another $2,000 for zero off. That's if you don't have to transport your boat anywhere.

SO why don't you just trade your '05 on an 08?

Wade may be right on this.  According to NADA, average consumer ("retail") price on an '05 CC196 SE (generic, with no specific options) is $18,900.

Average consumer price on an '08 (generic) is $25,640

Base price difference of $6,740.

Re: Install Zero Off in 2005 Ski Nautique

Plus you might just save yourself quite a bit of potential headaches from the conversion.  Anyone who has done this kinda coversion on cars knows how frustrating this can be. (Carb to Injected, or obd I to obd II)
And someone having your boat for who knows how long.

So my next question is what is the difference between a zero off pull and a dialed in perfect pass?  Not so much the variations in times but, what does the skier feel?

I only ever noticed it on a 08 mc 197.  Not skiing shortline but its hardly worth 5000 unless thats the purse youre after...

The conversion on an 05 takes just a couple of days and would run between $3700 and $4000.

Re: Install Zero Off in 2005 Ski Nautique

I found a conversion for $3600.  I was told it should take me about 8 hours to install.  Also a friend of mine is a marine mechanic and I'm sure he will be a big help.  Perfect pass is not an option.  Upper pangaea no longer has magnets installed.  Thanks for all the info...
