How to tell the 2008 Senate from the 2008 Senate C / Pro Ski Coach Water Ski Forum

Hey-o everybody,

I recently purchased a 2008 Radar Senate C on ebay but when I received it I found that I could not tell by any markings on it whether it was indeed the Senate C or was I sold a regular Radar Senate. The seller stated before I bought it that it was a Senate C, but the pictures on pro ski coach (of the 2008 Senate and the Senate C) look exactly the same. Nowhere on the ski is there any indication that it is the Senate C. Can anyone clear this question up for me?

I don't think there were different graphics on the Senate C in 2008.
The easiest way is probably going to be to call or E-mail Radar, they
should be able to help you track down a serial number to find what you have.

Is the bottom of the ski red or black?

Now that I see the picture, I'm not sure. That's too many years back now for me to remember. You can try contacting Eddie Roberts at Radar.

If the bottom is red you most likely have a Senate C (as long as Radar was consistent with the bottom color). It might also say "Carbon Composite Technology"

My buddies 08 regular Senate has the black bottom.

I'm pretty sure the Senate C has the silver emblem on the top that says it is the carbon version to go along with the red bottom.

Thanks to all who responded. I ended up calling Radar. They said that in 2008 the top grapics MAY have beeen the same, depending on when in 2008 the ski was made... I had the idea that they could weigh a 67" regular Senate and I would weigh what I had. Their regular Senate and my "Senate C" both came out at 5.6 lbs! In my mind this proves that I was sold a Senate after being told by the ebay seller that it was a Senate C! I suppose my next step will be to contact the seller again to see what he has to say for himself!

Another Radar rep emailed:

"If it has that red base that says “carbon composite technology” then it is a Senate-C. We introduced the Senate-C half way through the year and only changed the base of the ski to what is in the photos. The tops are identical. If it’s a regular Senate, it has the multi colored base brn/blk/wht. "
