Big scores right out of the box with young talents Cale Burdick (5@39) and Jason McClintock (2@41)! Relatively unknown to the US market, but always a threat in Europe is Frederick Halt (known more for being the husband of Natalie Hamrick) who threw down a solid 39 and rounded 2 buoys at 41. SkiTek regular Ty Oppenlander broke out of his two year injury plagued slump to post a solid 3.5@39 to keep him in contention for the top 16 spots. Drew Ross made 39 look pretty easy enroute to his 2@41. Marcus Brown survived an almost fatal overturn at 1@38 to post a respectable 4.5@39. Degasperi (Bad back and all) looked on point smoking 39 and having a great 1 at 41. Parrish always makes it look too easy and also had a stellar 1 at 41 but blew out trying to rotate around 2 ball. Will got the job done with a less then stellar 39. He looked great at 1 at 41 and overturned 2. Look for him to run more than that before the weekend is out. Last off the dock Jamie Beauchesne made pretty simple work of 39 and had a fantastic 1 at 41. Like the guys just before him he overturned and fell at 2.
I look for scores greater than 2@41 out of Beauchesne, Asher, and Parrish before the weekend is out and watch out for a severe upturn is scores for Williams, Travers, Parsons, and Jeff Rodgers. One other note, congrats to Tom Henderson who set a personal best at his first pro tournament with 2@39. Sick.
