Vision in the Slalom Course

Hi everyone - first time post here though I've been getting tips for a little while now.  Thanks!

Where should I be looking when skiing at different points through the course?  I've read/heard different opinions about this.  I try to look about 10' or so in front of the next ball when coming out of the turn and crossing the wakes.  I think I read somewhere else that you should look "down course" - what does that mean?  And now, watching the West Coast Slalom video, Mike S. says when approaching the wake you should be looking towards the wake (???!) and not beyond the wake towards the buoy.

Opinions, Chris, Wade, anybody?

btw, I'm skiing into 28 and 32 off, 34 mph if that matters.
