When is the Ski League tournament at OZ?
Friday - Saturday Sep 24-25.
The event is planned as a fun event, there is no sanction for this event.
Open to input on format, but mostly this is just a fun get-together-weekend for the year's end.
Any summer shootout participant, poweruser, or groupie may attend.
Rates will be very reasonable, pay by the set. Minimal format, we will be hanging out at the lake.
Myself and Seth Stisher will definitely be there, and we'll be adding a few more pros as we get a little closer.
Honestly I haven't had the time to get a headquarters hotel or anything like that. If I had some helpers, maybe we could post the best deals on flights and hotels etc.

Just talked w/Seth and we are probably going to be charging an inexpensive per-set rate. So we'll take turns, but you'll be able to get plenty of skiing in. We'll also have food avail and generally it will be a great time.

Sounds very nice and i would love to come and challenge you all, but i still have a small problem: the distance...
I think it sounds like an absolute blast. I would seriously consider making the trip out except my son is getting married that same weekend. Matter of fact, the reception is being held at my house in our backyard. Maybe next year.

I have been checking airfair today and it looks like flying into Charleston from Salt Lake is about 650.00 round trip with two stops both ways.
From SLC to Columbia is much cheeper $380.00 to $430.00 (2 stop from SLC to Col. only 1 stop going back to SLC) but leaves you with a 2 to 2.5 hr drive to Charleston and a rental car which i havnt priced yet.
So i want to go just need to sell it to my wife tonight after i serve and clean up dinner.

I'll see what I can do, I'm just north of Toronto, but would fly from Buffalo. I will see if I can get some interest from our ski club tonight. Most of us have never skied in a tournament and the fun format plus party sounds appealing.
So Sorry No go for me this time. Mama said to me lastnight which do you want? a weekend in Charleston or a season pass to ALTA this winter cause your not getting both?
End of story. wish i had a endless money supply but i dont so for the rest of you have fun and post pictures please.

Also can't make it. Work and personal life insanely busy right now.
Wade,
After reading MC’s post about air fare being less to Columbia, I got to thinking you are welcome to have the tournament here at Bud Lake. I am only a few minutes from Columbia Metropolitan Airport. People are welcome to camp here at the lake side. I have a power pole.
Bud Man,
Your lake looks perfect!!!!!!!! Wish i had access to something that sweet in Utah.

Thank you MattP, come over and ski.
Cant make that one, but come Feb, back to SkiTek.
Hey any word on how the Ski League Championships went? It did happen this pat weekend correct? And everyone Bud's place is an awsome place to ski and camp. My friend Chris and I stay there about a month ago and Bud could not have been a better host. Thanks again Bud and I will be heading back up that way in a couple weeks. Hope to stop by and ski with ya.
I don't think that anyone went
It's good to set high goals... I know that the ski league is in need of a lot more improvements from the input I got over the summer. Thanks to all who participated and we hope to see you back again next year.
I know the major hold up with the league this summer was 1) inconsistent scoring updates 2) not enough information on how scores were computed 3) not a good way to compare scores and learn how each skier got to be where they are now.
So these will all be addressed over the winter. For those of you who did participate in the ski league in its innaugural year, Thanks for your Support! As I improve the ski league program this winter, I'll make updates to the 2010 summer shootout league so that you can learn more and more about each person's score. Unfortunately I couldn't have this ready as much as I would have liked for this past summer, primarily due to the fact that it was hard to put together all the details without any data to start. Now that we've got a year in the books, the improvements will come in this winter and we'll be ready for an even more exciting and in depth league in 2011.
Thanks again to all the Power Users for your generous support of our movement -- and stay tuned -- I have no intensions of disappointing as we move forward
